This Sunday 4th - Seen His Glory

This Sunday we come to the heart of the Christmas message as we start to see the Glory of God. Join us again as Marc is out and about across Truro, bringing us another video message for all the Trinity Churches. We will be continuing to get ready for our Christmas Events, lighting our Advent Candles and also we will be joining together at the end of the service for a Soup Snack.

Soup is being provided for everyone for free, no need to book. This will be a great chance for us to spend time together as a church family ahead of the busy Christmas season. A chance to get to know new friends and catch up with old friends. There will also be activities for the kids as well.

Children’s groups continue as usual during the service as well. Other refreshments are being served both before and after our Sunday morning service.

This Saturday - Women’s Breakfast

You are very welcome to join us for our final Women’s Breakfast of the year this Saturday 3rd December, 8:30am at St Kea. Christmas can often trigger a wide range of emotions and so, right at the start of the festive season, we will take some time to reflect on the true hope of Christmas and discover in the Psalms what brings true “Joy to the World!”

All dietary requirements catered for. Book via the link below.

EQUIP - Final Week

This week is the last week of EQUIP before we head into our Christmas break. This week we finish our road from Romans 1:18 and finally see the power of God’s salvation in action. We will be understanding how we are gifted righteousness and we will be seeing the difference that righteousness makes in the every day things of our lives.

EQUIP small groups meet to apply God’s word, support one another and pray for one another, as we continue in mission for Jesus. All of our EQUIP resources can be found on our website, with the link below. To join an EQUIP group contact Marc (our church leader).

Next Sunday 11th - Christmas Party

Christmas is a wonderful time of year to invite family and friends into our church community, that they might experience the love of our church family and hear of the love of God in sending Jesus into the world.

On Sunday 11th December at 4pm we are holding our annual Christmas Party. This was a wonderful event last year, attended by lots of people. There will be food, activities, games and, right at the centre, Marc (our church leader) will be giving a short all age talk on the difference that the birth of Jesus can make in our lives today.

No need to book. Invite your friends. There will still be a morning service on the 11th at 9:30am as usual.

Sunday 18th - Carol Service

Sunday the 18th at Christ Church is our special Carol Service. Meeting at the slightly later time of 10:30am this will be a good opportunity to invite family and friends to celebrate with us.

This will be an all-age service. Through our Christmas carols and readings, we will remind ourselves of the events of that first Christmas. There will be a chance for children to dress up and take part in our ‘scratch nativity’. During this service Marc will be giving a short all-age address on why Jesus is the best news in the world. We will have a larger band than usual and a chance to sing the carols and hear the Christmas readings together. It is going to be great.

Christmas Day Celebration at Christ Church

Thank you to everyone who took part in our vote last Sunday, it was great for the congregation to be able to decide how we would meet on Christmas Day. As you might know, we can’t meet in Archbishop School on Christmas Day and so instead we are going to be gathering on Swanpool Beach. We will have refreshments (hot and warming), we will sing a couple of carols and there will be a short interactive talk for all ages. Some people felt this would be a really fun event to invite family and friends to join them as lots of people in Cornwall celebrate Christmas morning on the beach.

After our short gathering, people can either head back home, go on to visit family members or go for a walk along the beach. It is going to be a really fun and creative way to celebrate the birth of our glorious saviour and proclaim His name to others.

Please note, there will be no service at Church Church on Sunday 1st January.

Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving

As we come to the end of another year, our PCC has decided to hold 24 hours of prayer and thanksgiving. We know that next year will be challenging for many people with the cost of living and we know that 2023 will be challenging for us as a church, not least financially. (You can find out more about our finances just below.)

When our PCC last met, we talked about many different causes of thanksgiving, including financial thanksgiving. Our deficit for 2022 is significant, but much smaller that we had feared at one point.

In Philippians we are encouraged to…“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. So from 8am on Friday 9th December into Saturday 10th December we are asking if people will commit themselves to prayer for one hour.

This is being organised by Sian Goddard and Jenny Stevenson, do contact them to sign up for a slot - their details are on ChurchSuite for all church members. For more information click on the link below and read the FAQ for Thanksgiving.

Month of Prayer and Fasting

From time to time, the churches in Truro have come together specifically to pray for our city, for the advance of the gospel and for one another. We know that if we're going to see what we long to see then we can't afford not to pray. We also know that it's especially powerful when believers from many different backgrounds gather together to pray.

Early next year, there's going to be a city-wide month of prayer and fasting from 15th January to 12th February. There will be an in-person launch event on Monday 16th January at the Moresk Centre and a second event to mark the end of the month on 13th February at All Saints Highertown (both starting at 7:30pm).

Full details of this event can be found by clicking on the image above.

Wallace Wanderings - Update

The latest Newsletter from Richard and Riekje Wallace is now available. Richard and Riekje are mission partners at Christ Church. We give money to support their ministry and are keen to also support them in prayer. Do pray for them if you are able.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Pray for the Women’s Breakfast this Saturday. Give thanks for the friendships that have grown over this past year. Pray that many will attend and enjoy a respite from the busyness of Christmas, spending time looking at God’s word.

2. Please pray for preparations for our Christmas Party next Sunday. Pray for the team who are putting the activities together, for guests who will be invited and the chance to speak of the light of Jesus this Christmas time.

3. Pray for St John’s as Will settles into his new role. Pray that God will bless this ministry and provide solid growth.
