Advent series concludesLater on this week we join together for our Trinity Carol Service, and next Sunday our Christmas celebrations continue. There are many opportunities to invite family, friends, and those we know to join us over the next few days. In each of our services, we will be speaking of Jesus in ways designed especially for those who might not know him or who might want to get to know him better. The stunning thing is that the Jesus they will meet in the manger is the same Jesus who would go on to die as the Saviour of the world. As we conclude our series, One True Gift, it is the sacrificial death of Jesus that now comes into view. Philippians 2 tells us that Jesus, the servant, became “obedient to death – even death on a cross” (Phil 2:8). What does it look like to have the ‘same attitude as this Jesus’? What impact should his death have on us as we prepare to celebrate his birth? How might the reality of the cross be the cause of great rejoicing this Christmas? How might this wonderful truth resonate at this time of year? Join us as we conclude our series this week, and let’s continue praying together that this Christmas many will come to see that Jesus is indeed the Saviour of the world. Children and youth sessions will run for the last time this year and refreshments will be served before and after the service.
