Series Continues

This Sunday at St Kea, we continue our series in 1 Peter, exploring what it means to follow Jesus in a world where we don’t quite belong. This week, Peter reminds us that suffering for our faith shouldn’t come as a surprise—it’s part of the Christian life. These are challenging words. How can we rejoice in suffering? What does that even look like?

When we face opposition for our faith, we can take heart, knowing that we are blessed because God’s Spirit rests on us. Instead of being ashamed, we are called to entrust ourselves to our faithful Creator and continue to do good.

So, what does it truly mean to entrust ourselves to God and live with confidence, knowing He is working through our trials? Join us as we unpack this challenging but hope-filled passage. We’d love to welcome you this Sunday as we seek God’s wisdom and encouragement together.

Refreshments are served both before and after our gathering. Our normal groups for children and young people continue. A livestream will be broadcast and prayer ministry will be available after the service.

Small Groups - This Week

After our break for the Trinity Prayer Meeting last week, Small Groups are back this week. Join us as we continue to think about 1 Peter and how we engage with the world all around us.

As we have been getting practical, Peter has been applying the themes he introduced earlier in the letter. He has been continuing to show us the effect that Christians can have on the world around them.

Like God’s instruction to the exiles in Babylon (Jeremiah 29), this week Peter tells Christians to both uphold and subvert the social order. So let’s discover how we can live lives that surprise the world around us.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. Please teach us to live in confidence and strength. Help us to know that God is fighting all our battles and that he is protecting us. Help us to have faith in his faithfulness and know that he will never fail.

2. A prayer for the persecuted church. Father God, we lift up Sudan and pray for stability in the region. May those who covet power and those who seek to fight choose to walk the path of peace.
Bring justice and healing to this divided land, we pray. Out of this darkness, we pray that light will come. We pray for a government that respects equality and religious freedom. May Your church in this land reflect Your humility, forgiveness and love, And so act as a signpost to the possibility of a different way of life.
Bring hope for those who feel helpless, Healing for those who have been wounded, and safety for all those who feel afraid.

3. This week we pray for ChristChurch as they move to their new venue in Riverstreet on Sunday 16th March. We pray that this transition goes smoothly for the whole church family and for any final building works to be complete ahead of time.
