Lowest Income Communities Fund (LICF) Community Work Enabler for Powder Deanery (part time)
Join an existing team to facilitate growing and developing ministry reaching out to children, youth and adults in the Powder Deanery.
The successful candidate will be able to:
provide logistical and administrative support that enables LICF team members in their roles with children, young people and adults not normally reached by traditional expressions of church across Powder Deanery. These children, young people and adults will be in the most economically deprived groups.
support in the running of existing contextual engagement opportunities for children, young people and adults from low income communities. Help develop new engagement opportunities. This includes project support, events management, and fundraising support.
The role is well supported by Powder Deanery Churches, and benefits from a link to a supportive staff team across Trinity Churches in Truro, with monthly supervision, training provision as appropriate, and access to regular staff meetings.
As this post involves working with those who may be considered vulnerable and could involve work with children and young people, a successful safer recruitment process will be required and the post holder will be required to undertake safeguarding training.
An occupational requirement exists for the post holder to be a practicing Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
This is a half-time post of 12 - 18.5 hours per week (dependent on circumstances of applicant). This post is initially a fixed term contract until end of 2025 but it is anticipated to continue beyond that (dependent on Diocesan funding).

The successful candidate will be able to:
bring leadership support and expertise to existing engagement opportunities with young people from low income backgrounds.
develop accessible opportunities for low income communities that connect with children, young people and families not normally reached by traditional expressions of church across Powder Deanery
The role is well supported by Powder Deanery Churches, and benefits from the link to a supportive staff team across Trinity Churches in Truro, and the Youth Leadership Team. The role includes monthly supervision, training provision as appropriate, and access to regular staff meetings.

Christians against Poverty part time debt coach
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for working with those in debt and for sharing the Christian faith.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Support clients on their journey to becoming debt free through home visits and ongoing support
Work alongside our CAP Centre Manager to support the work of the centre
Maintain accurate record systems and co-ordinate with CAP volunteer
Positively reflect the Christian faith and the core values of Christian Against Poverty
The role is well supported, and is part of a close-knit staff team, with monthly supervision, training provision as appropriate, and regular staff meetings.
As the post is based within a gospel-teaching Christian church, the post-holder will be required to understand and appreciate the Christian faith in order to carry out the role, and a DBS check will be required as the post-holder will be working with vulnerable adults.
Hours: 8 hours per week, across two four-hour sessions. Working days are negotiable.
This post is initially funded for two years with the expectation that funding will continue after this time.
